Why I'm writing!

I’m an ordinary guy, old enough to have seen history unfold in this world for the last 62 years. I’ve been concerned since the early 1960’s for the general direction that Freedom and the Constitution are being taken in the United States. Let’s face it, these days little is as rare as common sense, and freedom seems to be under attack daily by politicians seeking to implement a “nanny” state to keep the average man from exercising free will on everything from gun ownership to how much soda he can drink a day.  Tobacco usage has been rejected and vilified and pot smoking glorified to the extreme. A few years ago, I received a major cussing at a stoplight in Austin TX for smoking a cigarette in my own truck (with the windows rolled up) by telling the other motorist, as he was screaming at me, that I was smoking weed and not tobacco. He instantly stopped fussing and started apologizing profusely. What kind of a world do we have when things like this happen?

I don’t know if anyone will ever read this blog, in fact I really don’t care. I’m writing not in an effort to inform or amuse anyone, but in an attempt to clarify in my own mind just what is happening around me and where the world is going. What I see around me in this world scares me and I’m a guy that really doesn’t scare easily. I’m starting to lose sight of the United States as I have known and loved it. I know the whole world is changing but I really am not interested in what happens to freedom in the rest of the world I’m only interested in what happens to any other place beyond this country. That may be a narrow view, but it is my view!
